Hello,

My 98 125cc ET4 started just fine before my vacation, but will not start after I returned a couple weeks later. I have changed spark plugs and charged the battery and the engine turns fine.

What should be my next step? Cleaning the carb?

Thanks

My experience with these types of issue.

1. The enrichment circuit typically gets blocked. They have very tiny passages. Clean all three circuits, enrichment/choke, slow jet and main jet.

2. Ensure fuel is making it to the carburetor. You can open the drain screw, crank the scooter and see if fuel is entering the carburetor

3. You possibly have a stuck float needle, preventing fuel from entering the carburetor. Performing #2 above will determine this

Hello,

Thank you for your reply.

I just took out the carburetor and cleaned the jets. I saw the squirt of gasoline inside the carb when I pulled the accelerator, so I believe I can rule out it not getting fuel.

It still won't start after cleaning the jets (the carb looked very clean already). So I checked the spark plug, and can't seem to get a spark. How would I proceed?

I changed the spark plug after it stopped to a NGK CR8 EIX, but I am not 100% sure this is the one.

Thanks,

Did you ground the spark plug against some metal when trying to start it and looking for the spark?

If you didn't throw out the old spark plug, does that also not spark?
