Hey Guys,

Strange phenomena but I picked up my ET2 from my AD yesterday and since then, I've got noticed this leak (see video in this link https://share.icloud.com/photos/03ds3Uv5xLDAuLjeisEkqle9g).

All the dealer did is change the tires, I'm far from being anything remotely close to mechanically inclined, but my assumption is a tire change shouldn't somehow relate to an oil leak?

Anywho, I'm not looking to do this myself (for aforementioned lack of mechanical affinity) but I'm curious to know if most here do think is the gear hub oil which is leaking. I did a very short drive today to a gas station to get a level surface, and the level of the gear hub oil is at the very last knotch on the dipstick - so still an minimum level, but the ET2 was doing a consistent drip at red lights. Not massive, but like 2-5 drops per light, and who knows what it was doing while I was in motion.

Safety-wise, do you guys think it's ok to ride this bike back to the dealer on Monday? It's only about 2 miles away from me one way.

Mechanically in terms of riding, what are my risks here? Let's assume worst case scenario and the bike loses all gear oil between here and dealer, can the rear wheel somehow lock up? Like if the transmission just dies and seizes up, but the wheels keep moving, it's fine and I can still brake and pull over to the side. But a rear wheel locking unexpectedly riding at speed would be suboptimal lol.

That looks like gear oil.
There is a black plastic dipstick that fits in the hole you put the gear oil in so you can check the level.
Try and work out where it's leaking from, if it's out of the drain bolt then it's pretty easy to change the oil and put a new seal in.
It it's anywhere else then it's more complicated.

I don't think driving it with low oil for a short period will damage the gears, I'd be more concerned about the oil getting onto my rear tyre.

Add more gear oil before riding the bike to your dealer if you are concerned about the rear hub running dry.

^This. Bought a car with no oil in the transmission once, put almost 500 miles on it before I realized I had a problem.

I reviewed the link you sent, and I can clearly see on the scooter where the leak is originating. I've attached a screenshot here from my video to show this more clearly. My drip source seems to be directly under the transmission case, and as I saw in the other ET2 thread, the drain bolt seems to be closer inwards on the side towards the rear wheel.

Any further ideas here what could be leaking?

If you remove the transmission cover, then take the clutch off there is a cover (like picture below).

Thx, I need to order some tools to see if I can get in there. Many moons ago I had a Yamaha Zuma 50cc where I did some work myself with different variation weights etc. So maybe I can actually find what's leaking int here.

To get the clutch off is quite easy, you just need a socket set and a tool like the one below (cheap from Amazon/Temu) to hold it while you undo the nut.

No oil there. But definitely oil in the gearbox. To get to there, you have to go past the clutch. If you end up tightening the cover bolts. Be sure to clean the oil out of the bolt holes. I'm kind of going through that with the Xmax. I was snapping bolts before getting to the torque value.
