Does anyone know the current rate of the 600 mile service in the US? Trying to decide if I want to do it myself or take it in. I figure even with a few tools I'd need to add to the collection and all the oils, orings and filters I'm only around $150. While I'd rather the professionals do it, I'm guessing it's going to be pricey and I'm sure they'd need the bike for a few days.
The price for the first service can vary quite a bit from one shop to another. A few even do the first service for free for those who bought their scooter at that dealership. You will really have to ask at your local servicing dealer.
I've never had a service take more than a day? In the UK at least, most city garages are short on space, so you only drop the Vespa to them when it's booked in for that particular day. They don't want lots of vehicles queued up, taking up valuable space.
If the valves need adjusting on your particular model, this requires a few hours for the engine to cool down before they can done - so for these services, I've always dropped the Vespa in the morning, and collected it before the shop closes in the evening. All other services have probably only been an hour or so - so I've just found a local coffee shop to wait at.
