Before this post, I checked my history and it was just over five years ago since my last post. I have left my comfortable retirement in New Mexico and gone back to work for the Department of State. By circuitous routing, we have found ourselves new residents of Frankfurt, Germany. My 2007 LX150 is on its way from NM.

Any members here from this part of Germany? Can anyone recommend a service shop here (there are many listed)? Does anyone know of any resources (clubs, etc) that welcome or, at least tolerate foreigners (I try, but my German is terrible)? Any advice on parking outdoors, year round ( mine has always been garaged)?

I appreciate any replies, thank you.

Welcome to Germany and welcome back to the forum.

I live about 1 hour from Frankfurt near Wiesbaden.

Does it have to be an official dealer?

For Vespa clubs, try https://www.facebook.com/p/Vespa-Club-Frankfurt-eV-100067322537107/?locale=de_DE

The Rhine-Main area (Frankfurt, Wiesbaden, Mainz) is full of great places. I would be happy to give you recommendations for restaurants, excursion destinations, etc.

Parking outdoors isn't much of a problem. Riding on salted roads is.

Frankfurt no different from most cities in Europe, if it aint locked solidly to something outdoors it will probably go missing and be soland from east europe as spare parts.

I moved to Germany from Portugal 10 years ago, had some old cameras from my old house, put them up, German neighbours said I was crazy, now 10 years later half the street has cameras, and nobody leaves doors on cars unlocked anymore, but carry on if you can afford to have belongings stolen and replaced easily.
