The past couple days, ive been coming out in the morning to a dead battery on my p177x. This morning i attempted to push start it since i havent before, but letting out the clutch just locks up the rear wheel. Am i missing something?
so if you have a dead battery, you can still kick start it instead of push starting it. much easier on your clutch and cruciform...
!!! You're right!
I came out this morning and even the blinkers wouldnt work. Kicked it over a dozen or more times. Tried to push start it. All the sudden a blinker comes on, and the things is blowing smoke like a chimney. Anyway, it got me to work. Praying i dont have a parasitic draw somewhere.

Hey Coastal,
Using the phrase parasitic draw tells me youre not a total newb to electrics...so I guess your next step is to get a multimeter in line with the main battery feed and click it to I (Current/ Amps)...after that I suspect you'll have something register....then its simply(Ha sure!) a matter of removing things one at a time that need 12V. If it stops drawing current the offending bit has been found..
Not the best weekend you'll ever spend though!

Try second gear and definitely try it with some weight in the back, jump on the seat whenever you are about to let go of the clutch lever. Also, always try to push start on a surface that is grippy(asphalt preferibly).
If the scooter if flooded or is out of tune you will have to push for a while. On a different note, I responded you on your Private message. Let me know if you are still interested on my P200E. I will be in San Diego on vacation so I can bring it on my truck or leave it at home , just let me know. Thanks!
