looking for experiences Has anyone who runs a series 2 Lambretta fitted a Speedometer/Rev Counter SIP 2.0 [https://www.sip-scootershop.com/en/product/speedometer-rev-counter-sip-20-for-lambretta-li-125-150-1-2-tv-175-1_50000910]
my lamb is 6v without a battery and at this point I just want to use the speedo cable already fitted - also does this speedo start at 0 or can it be updated to the previous odometer reading ?

It needs 12V AC or DC, it won't run on 6V. It can work with the cable, you can set your old odometer reading…

I'm sure you're keen to use it now and not wait until you've done a 12v conversion. Until them perhaps you could get a small 12v battery from Jaycar and recharge it every so often to run just the speedo. Can't recall what the draw is but should last a while.
When you connect your speedo cable you will need to select the correct input setting, then adjust it to suit your tyre circumference. In the past I've then fine-tuned it (by adjusting the circumference setting) against a gps.

I'm currently installing a SIP digital speedo in my Series 3 (along with a Vape 12DC with battery), so maybe that will give you some motivation to get your electrical system upgraded?
