Hello everyone!
I'm a beginner motorcycle rider and a new owner of an old MP3 250. Got it from not starting to what seemed to be fully operational state, right until the first longer ride, when the check engine light turned on. Thanks to the people of this forum I identified the source of the problem - broken voltage regulator, that was giving over 17 volts on working RPMs.
So I ordered a new regulator, but the delivery date is so late, that I'm certain that I won't get it until the end of the riding season.
Knowing that riding the beast with broken VR is a death sentence for the battery I thought, that maybe it's possible for me to disconnect the battery after every startup in order to save it. But the question is how bad would it be for all the other electrical components? Will it be fine for a week of riding or should I refrain for the time being?
