Let me explain, I got this widebody book (kinda expensive, could've been done better, bigger pics less ads, etc)

And all of my engines are VNA2M. and the cylinders are all the same. Like as described in the Widebody book by Sticky. Which doesn't cover Allstates or earlier 2 port cylinders that have the Intake and Exhaust right next to each other.

The book doesn't cover the earlier 2 port. Any ideas when the change was made. I am thinking 53. Sticky says all 2 ports can be identified by the exhaust coming out the bottom with the curve in the exhaust, but this can't be true.

The new exhaust fits this kind of Cylinder which is from the Earlier Allstate book. Notice the ports are next to each other.

This is real easy- you have bought the wrong parts manual for your bike. The tri-fives are very different from the 100-105 series.
Sticky is 100% correct in respect to the exhaust existing on the bottom for 2-port engines and from the side for 1-port engines. There are also a host of other differences as well, and to the folks that have this knowledge, easy to identify by just looking at the outside of an engine. |
