I have a 2017 GTS 150, when I bought the scooter 3 years ago my existing helmet would not fit in the underseat bucket. I am looking to upgrade to an open face Shoei JO and am wondering whether it will fit under the seat? If not which helmet will fit? I believe a Piaggio VJ helmut is designed to fit. Not a lot of room under there. I live remotely so have to order online and cannot try at a shop.

I think most any open face helmet will fit in there.

The Shoei JO seems to be a pretty compact helmet.

You might try to find a local retailer and ride your scoot there. Tell them you want to check if the open face helmets fit in the underseat bucket; they'll likely oblige your request. You might find another brand you like better that also fits in the underseat bucket.

In contrast, I'll say most 3/4 open face helmets DON'T fit in there. All half helmets do. I've not tried my current 3/4th bean protector under the seat (I have the Vespa top case), but I will double check as it is very similar to the Vespa branded helmet that does (or did in the past at least) fit beneath the seat.

Given the amount of 2 wheelers in Thailand somebody must have at least 1 of the helmets that you are thinking of that you can try under the seat, or even the shop.

My current 3/4 won't fit in the bucket. We do have some helmet suppliers where I am but they only sell really cheap helmets here. Most Thais don't wear helmets. Such a small bucket too. Yes the Shoei JO does look like a small helmet, I think I'll take the risk and buy the Shoei anyway online from Bangkok, would be nice if it fitted though. I have a Shoei full face in Australia so I know my size and they are very good quality and receive great reviews.

I have that afternarket, larger seat bucket and a full face motorcycle helmet fits in there. I absolutely love this "mod" and can fit so much in there as well when there's no helmet there.

There's two versions. Some guy in Asia somewhere sells them for around half of the British or German made one I got.

Maybe someone can post the link as ai forgot. If, not I can dig up the link
