Does anyone know where the CENTREPOINT of a Vespa is?

I know the left-right CentrePoint is roughly 600mm (2') to the right of the scoot... but no idea where the front-rear balance-point would be.
My guess is round about where the big long engine bolt is, possibly a bit further back.

I've got one of the towbar motorcycle carriers, but when you look at the design it sure is for a motoX bike... long, big wheels, foot pegs, centrally balanced.... so I want to ensure it suits a Vespa, as pretty much all i move around is a VBC.
THERE IS NO CHANCE THE CENTREPOINT IS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE SCOOT.

Put the front wheel on bathroom scales.
Put the rear wheel on the bathroom scales.
Next the centre of gravity is now an easy function measured from either wheel.

As to left/right you mount the scoot with the engine towards the tail of the car.

Happy travels.

Someone here posted their Largeframe hanging from the air intake hole under the seat. Hung level.

I think the more important consideration is making sure it is stable when you are going down the road. Worst case scenario, imagine over 300 pounds of scooter cantilevered out the back supported only on a 2" square hollow tube w/ a big hole thru the middle for your hitch pin, and now hit a few small bumps spaced just right to get the whole thing bouncing up & down nicely and ... Wha? emoticon

I love my hitch platform carrier for easy transport, but I always rig 'guy wires'/ ratchet straps from the bottom rear corners of my carrier to the highest rear corners of my vehicle w/ modest tension to avoid this possible problem.
The higher the better, but even the trunk edge on a car. Use bungees & padding as needed to protect bike & car.

Here is the Motovespa and this shows it is a bit aft of the air hole. I'd say it is designed so as the frame rocks up and down over bumps you sort of pivot on the seat. Make sense ?

That's not yours is it Terry? The way it's tied down at the front would put a lot of stress on the headset.
Interesting that the vent hole under the seat is exactly over the hitch, which aligns with Moto64's great pic.

I like using the air hole or seat hinge to strap to puts a good angle on the straps. Even with just two straps it is very secure

I guess it's to simplify manufacturing... same as the hole in dash & behind rear seats on a Mini... so they could put a big rod thru it & make a rotisserie

Why do you need to find the center balance for putting a scooter on a bike carrier?

Then the weight will be centralised on the towball, rather than being all on 1 side.

Centering the scooter's weight on a motorcycle carrier so that it's balancing over the towbar hitch is a 100% non-issue x100.
