Hi,

I have a '75 Rally 200 all original that was running perfectly until I had to replace the corroded wires going from the Femstra to the stator. Knowing that I would likely do a crappy job re-soldering the wires, I sent the stator to Scooter West for a re-wire. I got it back, it looked great, I put it on my bike, but now the scooter is bogging/dying about mid throttle. It comes back to life at full throttle and it idles fine. I've cleaned the jets, adjusted the idle screw, and replaced the spark plug with no luck. So now I'm thinking it's an electrical issue but I have no idea where to start trouble shooting for something like that. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

Andrey

What's your timing set at and how do you know that degree is accurate? Did you mark the stator and cases before you removed it to send it off?

Unless I'm mistaken I don't think the stator plate for the '75 Rally allows for a timing adjustment. The screws are locked in place, there are no adjustable slots.

Not sure if this is your issue, but Scootopia is selling a Femsa coil replacement now.
No feedback yet from users. Sure looks the part, though.

I highly doubt your problem is electrical if idle and higher rpm is ok.

A video of the behaviour would be helpful to troubleshoot.

Did you check the gap between the pickup and the flywheel? I think that was adjustable.

Thanks. Yeah, I measured the pickup gap to spec. I think next I'll try cleaning the carb and replacing the gaskets etc.
