My 2006 Piaggio Fly 150 just suddenly would not start after stopping at the store. The starter does not appear to engage at all as I hear no sounds or see any signs of battery load dimming the headlight and Yes, I am holding the break when trying to engage the starter.

The headlight works, both high and low beams, but the turn signals and brake lights do not work when the key is engaged. The battery seems to be fully charged as the headlight looks strong and the horn sounds. I checked the 15 amp fuse under the seat by the battery, and it looks good.

Any help as to where I should start looking for a fix would be greatly appreciated.

Are you stuck at the store? Do you have access to tools?

1. Check that the battery terminals are tight.

2. If you can access the starter relay try tapping on it.

1) No, I'm not stuck at the store. Fortunately it was only about 1/2 a mile from my house so I just pushed it home last night.

2) The battery terminals are indeed tight, and I've since hooked up a battery charger, but it does not change anything. No sound whatsover or any signs of an additional electrical load normally seen when the starter motor engages.

3) Forgive me, but I don't know were the starter relay is located even after looking through a bit of Google search results. I know it looks like a small, brown rectugular chunk of plastic with a plug on one end, but I can't see it anywhere. Does some of the plastic covers need to be removed in order to see it?

If brake light don't work maybe the levels micro switch are bad? (remember you need to press the the brake level to the starter button works) do you try press the front and the rear brake level and try (I think is very difficult that both stop work at same time).

Check the brake lights / turn signal fuse, maybe it is the problem

I have tried holding both brake levers at the same time while engaging the starter, but it still does not work.

Where is the turn signal fuse located? The only visible fuse I can see is the 15 amp fuse located next the battery, and it's fine.

You can check in the user manual the fuses location, I don't have a Fly, but in this link is more info about the fuses location in a Fly https://modernvespa.com/forum/topic128237

How old is the battery? You're using a lit headlight to determine the battery is good? What you need is a voltmeter.

The batter is about a year old. I also hooked it up to a battery charger.....it's not the battery. I suspect I have a blown fuse as 1 of the 4 7.5amp fuses is for the turn signals and brake lights, and that's whats not working. I just can't get to those fuses as it looks like you have to take the whole front plastic bit off first to access them.

You just have to remove the horn cover. Even Piaggio wouldn't be daft enough to make fuses almost inaccessible...

To remove the horn cover, prise off the Piaggio emblem using a flat-bladed screwdriver into the middle of the right-hand side of the emblem as you look at it. Then undo the screw so revealed. Push up the horn cover by 1/2 inch to release it and remove.

If a fuse *has* blown, double check all the bulbs and their wiring for the culprit.
