I started doing the same thing.
I especially love telling them no when they ask for a phone number.

Ticketmaster and its parent, Live Nation, should be closed, and all venues should sell tickets to their own shows. Fees, and more fees. Reselling tickets, it's all a sham.

A trend started with the Grateful Dead, where hippies would stand in line asking for a miracle ticket from strangers, they would cycle back through all day and night to find that one altruistic fellow. They probably have a name for it, one of their friends probably owns the websites you speak of.
It's not like they can't afford the ticket, it's just part of the scene. Those fees add up and they probably have a lottery who gets what. Go to a Latin town and see the neighborhood painted with different color houses, those families have relatives in other town with the same color houses, if you grew up in a blue house, and ended up in a different place, you could find a relative in a blue home.
Same applies to the Grateful Dead analogy, I'm sure this isn't limited to GD.
Tickets are color coded, for this reason.

Locally we have the National Bowling Stadium, which is never has open bowling.
There sometimes charity events, tickets are only sold through ticketmaster
The bowling is $20 for 4 hours, the service fees are $30
To add insult to that, food & drinks are card only

Hot take is
I have money, you have services & food/drinks, we should trade

Veloce Vulture,

I made some horrible mistakes in business that cost me dearly. Ultimately, I did really well financially. It may be part of the process. Musk may be on the leading edge of taking risks. People like Musk appear to be operating in a different Galaxy.

The founder of FedEx, Fred Smith, was going under financially. He took his company's last payroll of $5000 to the Black Jack tables in Vegas and won $27,000. (Stayed Alive). Some of these entrepreneurs are crazy. Again, it may be part of the process.

It may also be that our democratic free enterprise system encourages this. There are a majority of failures, but the successes appear to have moved the ball forward.

Other good options:
(whatever area code is convenient) 867-5309
(whatever area code is convenient) 777-9311

The first option will also usually work for getting reward point discounts, because lots of people use it. The second is a little more obscure.

I've been self employed my whole life, had to finally get into 3rd gear about 10 years ago. Now I'm cruising until I can hit 4th.
As far as musk is concerned, and I've had numerous conversations with him.
He's part of the problem, the trouble is the system itself is flawed.
Nobody get a voice unless they have degrees or wealth.
It's a terrible blind spot.
Innovation is demoralized until it can be had for free.
I'll drag him until he pays me the bitcoins he owes me.

Not a big fan of Musk, but - 'The reasonable man adapts himself to the world; the unreasonable man persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore all progress depends on the unreasonable man.'

Here's my hot take: Musk's apparent success is itself a variation on the Dunning-Kruger effect -- the twist being that Elon only appears smart to people who are not smart enough to understand exactly how much of a fraud he is. He's bold, yes. Some of his companies are also successful, yes.

But the people who know, know. And the people that don't, well they all cheer him on as if he was a genius.

(Narrator voice: he's not)

Dude, I have an eight minute version of "Hold Me Now" I ripped from 45rpm vinyl that is always ALWAYS in the car with me. Just in case.

I would love to have seen them in concert. That sounds like quite a show. Not sure who smashed those three bands together, but ok.

Another hot take ... I have had a long running admiration of Bob Geldof. I am a Boomtown Rats, fan, read his autobiography when it came out, "The Happy Club" is one of my favorite albums ever and I appreciate all the hard work he's put into promoting fathers' rights, especially what he went through with Paula and Michael Hutchence, adopting Tiger Lily as his own.

The dude may not do everything right, but he's got a whole lot of good intention behind it.

Saw that X was in the trending for a minute, guess that's all he could afford.
What pissed me off was the UNBIASSED STORY that's it about a 50/50 split between them and they.
What cheers me is the fact that I don't have an algorithm that watches my eyes and sends me more of the garbage I don't wanna see anyway. I'd rather go to the library or a newsstand and decide what I want to be exposed to.
Thankfully HVWs doesn't have children for sale.
