I have a question regarding the operation of the center stand.

Normally, you stand on the left side of the Vespa and use your right leg to push the stand down. However, I have a friend who has due to an accident very little strength in his right leg and is unable to do this.

Is there a possibility to modify it so that the center stand can be operated from the right side of the Vespa using the left leg?

Thanks in advance !

Sure, get in contact with a welder and come up with a plan. I would also suggest installing a side stand.

The kick bar of the main stand is deliberately on the opposite side to the throttle grip so that you don't accidentally turn it when jacking up while the engine is still running.

If you stand slightly to the side of the vehicle, you can easily reach the main stand in its current position with both feet, so I see no need to move it to the other side (right feet = eyes/body to front / left feet = eyes/body backwards)

If you are still looking for an individual solution, make sure that the outrigger is not lower than on the left-hand side, otherwise you will touch down more quickly when leaning.

I've just tried it, and it's awkward, with one's weight on the right leg while twisted. If the right leg is compromised, not a good solution.

If a microswitch is added in a suitable spot, this can be in series with the kill-switch so that the engine is turned off when the centre-stand begins to move down. Just like the side-stand switch (when fitted).

Regardless of which side the boom is on, the Situation with the weaker foot on the ground would ALWAYS remain with the problem described...

I may have described it wrong, you have to turn your whole body. Left hand on the handlebars, right hand on the pillion grip, depending on which foot you want to use, you then stand slightly in front of or behind the main stand. When I observe Vespa riders, I would almost say that the ratio of those who do this intuitively is 50:50 right/left foot.

That would be too late... by the time the main stand moves, one hand has already been on the throttle for a time...

Side stand feels like the right answer here.

I have been running a car tire for 100,000 miles, it is taller and makes using the center stand easier, I can now put the scoot on the center stand while still sitting on the scoot. A taller tire would really help this guy with his issue. I have a 2024 GTS
