So Im looking for a dashcam option for my scooter that I dont have to worry about charging every day, and can cover my front and rear. And Im just not keen on having a gopro mounted to my face.

The innovv dashcams are made specifically for motorcycles. Would they work for 300cc scooters?

Really want something low profile and low maintenance. Just wanna be covered in the event of an encounter with a bad driver that I was unable to avoid.

A comparison video of two motorcycle dashcams (Viofo MT1 vs. Vantrue F1) for permanent installation with power supply was published today:

The video is in German, but you can understand the technical data and the comparison pictures without speaking German.

And those are useable on scooters as well?

In all fairness, any motorcycle dashcam will work as long as you can figure out where to pass cables through and where to put the cameras, not so sure about front, but rear end could go under topcase rack if you have one.

I considered the Innov K6, but went with the Vantrue F1 for the higher resolution front facing camera. I've got a Vantrue F1 kit sitting in my garage awaiting install.

I'm planning to put the DVR equipment in the glovebox (my 2007 GTS has a bit more room in there).

Camera mountings/placement is challenging me right now. I originally considered installing the front camera on the left side knee panel, but there is not enough clearance from the underside of the left grip/brake handle. So I'm thinking about using the horn cast/cover. The rear is another challenge with the rear rack and top case. I really don't want to drill into metal, but I want a secure location that won't get glare from the tail/brake light.

There might be a bit of trial and error coming soon.

Depending on the rear rack you have, you could use a piece of thick square plastic cable tied under rack and cameras 3m stuck on solid.

Dashcam on GTS

Also the Innovv K is only 1080. If it's cheap then fine else buy a 4K.

Steelbytes - Thanks for sharing that other thread. Your install looks really good and your video comes out nice and smooth as well.

My big concern about the rear camera mounted on the rear rack/top case is vibration. I have an OEM top case on the oem folding rack. I'm worried there will be so much vibration that the rear view would be unusable.

I might copy the install for the front camera on the underside of the headset plastics.

Also - I bought my Vantrue F1 during Amazon Prime Days, it was discounted to $279 from $399. Black Friday/Cyber Monday might have good sale price on this item.

You could easily fix the rear camera just below the rack with some solid 3M pads, camera is so light it will not move.

I bought an ION Air Pro about 7 years ago. Liked it, so I bought a 2nd one before they went out of business. The batteries only last 1 1/2 hrs.

Stick it on the left side as you ride on the right. Makes it nearer to the centre of the road
