Official Piaggio press release:

NEW PIAGGIO MEDLEY 200
THE PIAGGIO MEDLEY ENTERS A NEW ENGINE SIZE CATEGORY

THE MEDLEY 200 IS MORE POWERFUL AND MORE RESPONSIVE, AND COMBINES THE AGILITY OF A LIGHTWEIGHT HIGH-WHEELER WITH THE COMFORT AND CONVENIENCE OF A GT SCOOTER

WITH A DESIGN THAT EVOKES STYLISH SPORTINESS AND A RANGE OF SUPERB TECHNICAL EQUIPMENT, THE NEW PIAGGIO MEDLEY 200 REPRESENTS THE TOP LEVEL OF THE HIGH-WHEEL, MEDIUM-DISPLACEMENT SEGMENT

New engine, new power
The new Piaggio Medley 200 brings all the style and technology of the most sophisticated, advanced high-wheeler to the medium-displacement engine category. With all-new levels of performance and even more flair, it is aimed urban commuters looking for a superior vehicle with regard to performance, grip and solidity on the road, without compromising on lightness and agility.
The Piaggio Medley marries practicality, technology and good looks in quintessential Italian style, interpreting the needs of an exacting target market on a quest for mobility solutions that go beyond the standard scooter formula. The Medley combines the benefits of several different scooter types, ensuring that nothing is sacrificed. The lightness, agility and easy ride that are typical of high-wheelers are coupled with the finishes, protection and load capacity of GT scooters.

For 2025, the Piaggio Medley takes a new leap forwards, entering the 200 class with the new engine on this model. Courtesy of the new, hi-tech water-cooled, single-cylinder fuel-injection engine, the power hits 13 kW, with the torque rising to 16.5 Nm.
On the road, these values translate into real brilliance, as well as remarkable riding flexibility, a characteristic that is even more important in the city. Whether stopping and starting frequently, accelerating from lower speeds or slowing down again, the new Medley 200 performs brilliantly, with acceleration that is powerful without being abrupt. The new power delivery, which is also provided by the automatic Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT), offers easy, seamless management at all times.

The Piaggio Medley 200 is equipped with a patented Piaggio Start & Stop system, RISS (the Regulator Inverter Start & Stop System). This innovative solution eliminates the classic starter motor, replacing this with a brushless "direct mount" electric device, which is fitted directly on the crankshaft. The benefits are numerous: extremely quiet starting, improved lightness and reliability, and lower fuel consumption.

Italian design
The Piaggio Medley's style emphasises its sporty nature: the front end features graceful yet very dynamic lines, as does the handlebar, where the full-LED front headlamp and a digital LCD instrument panel are housed.
The super-streamlined rear end keeps its compact dimensions despite the large storage compartment, which is particularly spacious for a mid-class high wheel bike.
This is achieved thanks to the carefully conceived tail shape and the positioning of the fuel tank in the centre of the footboard: a solution that increases the capacity of the under-seat compartment as well as providing additional advantages such as the option of refuelling without getting off the seat and improved rideability on the road, thanks to the centralised mass distribution.
The seat, which is wide and comfortable for both rider and passenger, is equipped with an electric opening function controlled by a button on the handlebar; it also has a mechanical opening command located in the countershield compartment.

Perfect on the road
The load-bearing structure of the Piaggio Medley is based on a "low single-cradle" frame type made from steel tubes, reinforced with tubular and sheet steel components: these contribute to its overall robustness whilst maintaining a low, comfortable step-through.
As well as ensuring stability and safety, the 16-inch front wheel also streamlines the entire front end in the vertical plane. The rims - 16-inch at the front and 14-inch at the back - are crafted from aluminium and feature a stylish six-spoke split design; they are designed for use with 100/80 and 120/70 tyres.
Active safety is managed by the powerful braking system, which consists of two 260 and 240 mm disc units with floating twin-piston callipers; it comes with a dual-channel ABS anti-lock system as standard.
The Piaggio Medley also offers cutting-edge connectivity: with the Piaggio MIA system (offered as standard on the S version), a smartphone can be connected to the bike via Bluetooth, enabling phone calls, voice commands and music to be managed via the instrument panel and handlebar controls.

Two equipment options, various different personalities
The new Piaggio Medley 200 is available in the Medley and Medley S versions.
The Medley S is distinguished by the black finishes and details, lending a sporty look to the wheel rims, the shock absorbers, the passenger grab handle, the inside of the windshield, the upper plastic components on the footboard and the trims on the front.
The colour variants of Medley S are as follows: Nero Meteora (matte), Bianco Luna, Blu Ardesia (matte), and Oro Opaco, and are always paired with a black seat and interior trims. The Piaggio MIA comes as standard on the Medley S: a multimedia platform that enables the on-board system to be linked to a smartphone.
The Piaggio Medley, meanwhile, comes in more classic colours, such as Grigio Astrale and Nero Abisso, both combined with a black seat and interior trims. These colours are paired with a stylish aluminium finish on the wheel rims and passenger grab handle.

Accessories
The line of accessories for the Piaggio Medley has been created with an emphasis on technology and functionality. This comprehensive line of products designed for this scooter are conceived to enhance its comfort and rideability.

The lines, materials and finish of the windscreen provide the new Piaggio scooter with the best possible protection from the elements, while also enhancing its stylish shape. The smaller fairing emphasises the edgy, sporty character of the Medley.

Load capacity is another area that has been the subject of major focus: in combination with the capacious under-seat compartment, Piaggio offers a classic 32-litre top box as well as a larger 37-litre top box, which extends the load capacity to the maximum. Naturally, both top boxes are available in the same colour as the bike, and can be equipped with a passenger backrest.

An anti-slip mat can also be installed for maximum safety, and the dedicated leg cover is perfect for riders who aren't afraid of cold weather. Meanwhile, riders who do not wish to use the scooter during the winter season can benefit from a dedicated waterproof vehicle cover personalised with the logo, featuring special openings for the windscreen and top box (available as options).

The accessories range is also focused on vehicle protection: the innovative electronic anti-theft device, with independent power supply, boasts the lowest power consumption on the market, and adds the deterrent of an immobiliser and a powerful siren to prevent tampering.

Provided as standard on the Medley S, the Piaggio MIA connectivity system is also available as an accessory.
This system enables a smartphone to be connected via Bluetooth to the Piaggio Medley's on-board electronic system, offering exclusive functions that make for an even more rewarding, fun riding experience.
All notifications regarding incoming calls and messages are displayed on the instrument panel. The system enables phone calls to be managed, and the smartphone's voice commands can be used to make calls or play music from a playlist.
Via the dedicated app, PIAGGIO MIA also enables users to view a range of information on their journey and the operating status of the vehicle on their smartphone; it also includes a convenient location saving system which makes it easier to find the scooter in even the busiest city zones. The dedicated app (which can be downloaded for free on iOS and Android) also allows the user to activate the find me and follow me functions from their smartphone, which trigger the direction indicators and the horn so the scooter can be easily located in even the most crowded car parks.

The new Demi Jet Urban Life helmet, designed specifically for urban commuting, is a new addition for 2025. This helmet combines safety and style, and comes in five different colours for perfect colour coordination with the scooter.

Damn I really wish they would sell the 200cc Medley in the US. That's my ideal size. And it looks more attractive than the new Liberty.

The current Medley 125/150 also already has an automatic start/stop system. It can be switched off permanently…

It's true that the Medley is more complicated than my Liberty in several ways, and I usually prefer simplicity, but I'm willing to deal with that for the right size scooter.

It cannot function as advertised, since it doesn't know how long the stop is. It's smoke blown up the arse. Thermodynamic law.

The thank me for not writing a two page documentation

UK Highway Code #123:
Generally, if the vehicle is stationary and is likely to remain so for more than a couple of minutes, you should apply the parking brake and switch off the engine to reduce emissions and noise pollution.
It's a sensible measure to reduce air pollution. Makes a big difference in congested cities. Also it's illegal to leave the engine running if the vehicle is unattended. I see this far too often in supermarket car parks over here.

if you want a reduction in air pollution makes flying in jets illegal or shut down the cruise ship industry, neither of those have emission controls on their exhaust systems. Hell 1 flight or 1 cruise will put out more emissions than ALL the motorcycles and scooters in a day.

Meanwhile the nuclear arms race continues, we have built bombs big enough that one bomb is hypothesized to destroy the entire planet. Hope they don't test it. The whales hate us.
