Modern Vespa

Hello,

My Vespa's GTS 125 2014 engine "chokes" at around 80% - full throttle. At idle - 80% throttle open - everything works OK (sometimes I have to open a throttle a little bit few times before moving from idle - for example at traffic lights - otherwise engine shuts down). I noticed, that top speed of my GTS 125ccm lowered drastically, and all I can achieve at full throttle flat road is max 80-85 km/h. I attach the short movie I shot today ( https://photos.app.goo.gl/PiK193UGsHSnhmRq7 ) - showing my dashboard with the speed and recorded "choking" sound (first 15. seconds is half throttle, then it goes full throttle around 20" of a movie, than it goes back to 50% around 45". What may cause such behavior? Thanks, J

does that model have ASR? if yes then check tire pressure and then recalibrate.

Honestly - I do not know if my Vespa has the ASR ot not :/ As far as I googled - it should have dedicated ASR switch on the handlebar, mine does not have one ( https://photos.app.goo.gl/xXJWZhUVvfmfdgC86 ). However, once I turn ignition on, the EFI/ASR yellow light blinks on the dashboard ( https://photos.app.goo.gl/rkB7cqFkVXpGj8Qg9 ). I used your VIN at https://manuals.vespa.com/ to download the manual. It has ASR see page 17. For your model turning on/off ASR is performed with the engine start button after the engine has been started. Calibration procedure starts at page 22.

So check Tire pressures FIRST and then SECOND calibrate ASR.
