1st thing I've been ill so not been able to ride my 06 px disc since June, i run the scooter for around 15 minutes once a week, the px has a malossi 177cc kit, road 2 exhaust, today i started the scooter for it to splutter to a stop and wouldn't restart, checked the plug (ngk b8es) and it was black and oily, cleaned the plug and it restarted but died after a couple of minutes, oily plug again, i have just under a 1/4 of fuel in the tank, i was wondering if the remaining fuel has too much oil (3% ratio mix), before i stopped using the scooter due to illness it ran perfectly, any suggestions please.

Can you tell if the plug is wet with gear oil or 2t? Could be sucking gear oil or leaky float letting gas/2t dribble in. I'm also thinking that you are down to a 1/4 tank and it's not getting agitated and mixed up through riding, it's getting heavy on the oil. Doesn't help that it's never really getting hot enough to burn out any carbon, excess fuel/2t, spooge, etc. When my scooters sit a long time between rides, the float needle tends to get leaky and it's harder to start and smokey. Usually a good hot ride sorts it. Sometimes, I have to take apart the carb and clean it.

Thanks for the reply, I'll give the float top a tap when i can, its 2t oil on the plug, I'm going to siphon out what is in the fuel tank and start afresh and go from there.
