Start off by using the great MV search engine. This was covered in depth just a couple of weeks ago. Every answer you seek is a couple of clicks away.

Actually it wasn't covered in depth. We never got around explaining how to take off the horn-cast, glovebox and floorboard.

Here's a good start:

*you're. And I agree. If you are breaking it down, redo the system with good hoses.

Why? This hose only went because it was punctured by an add-on "crash bar" installation. Not old age...

The life is more about how many hours it's been subjected to fully hot temperatures, than number of years. My 2003 GT200 hasn't had any coolant hose issues at ~40,000 km - though it did once have a split reservoir tank.

Guilty. The Honda dirtbike in rebuilding is a prime example. I have the OEM diagrams open which link to the online seller…

I pull off a part, clean it, inspect it, then look at the price of a shiny new one and think.. 'only $4.38 for a new one..!'

Then it's… 'only $x.xx more for FREE shipping..?! Look at this new hose I don't really need!'
