gentlemen,
I'm trying to install new wheel bearings in a 1964 VNB, is there a trick or tool that is needed to seat them in?

Is the swing arm still on the bike?
If not then put the bearings in the freezer over night and tomorrow heat the swing arm in the oven to 250°. They'll slide right in.
Or install the big one on the axle before you install it in the swing arm then tap the smaller one in and slide the axle through. Use a drift to whack it in till fully seated. Don't forget the washer on the end of the axle!

Edit: I think the last time I did this the swing arm was still attached so I used a heat gun on the swing arm bearing seats and hammered it in with grease on the outside of the bearings to help them slide in. Froze the bearings first.

It was pretty scary, we were riding in Downtown Mount Airy and Rick's steering went limp! We saw how loose the axle was we got him a truck ride home!

He's been trying many tricks to get it back in, Rick, tell Tami the oven is yours tonight.

I tried to give him a ride back to his house and as soon as I turned the throttle front wheel was in the air!

Good times!
