Hello everyone,

A few days ago, I lost the lights on my Vespa. First, the light switch got so hot that the metal cover was literally burning. Then, I lost the lights. As you can see in the photo I uploaded, the yellow cables seem to be the culprit.

Were they not properly protected or installed? I never had problems for years, only now, with no explanation.

I've ordered a new light switch to reinstall all the cables in the same order. What can I do regarding the yellow cables to prevent losing the lights again?

Cheers

Looks like the bare end of the yellow wires that aren't seated fully are rubbing the side of the screw hole where the paint has worn off… that'll do it. Had a similar issue with my headlight where the yellow wires were just barely intermittently touching the headlight retaining clamp. Sparks and no lights soon after. Try seating the yellow wires in deeper and figure a way to move them away from the screw hole.

Thank you! I just got a new switch that I'll install tomorrow. I'm gonna use some tape to isolate the wires and cover the where the paint has come off.
