Hi so I have I guess somewhat of a race set up. VMC 187 block, reed valves, PWK carb, SIP superstrong clutch (6 normal springs, 3 race springs). Now my question is what gear oil should I be using and how much of it?

The local mechanic reccomends using more oil ie 600ml and for the oil Motul diesel 5W-40 he says he's had good results with.

There is SIP Supersoprt and SIP Ultrastrong clutches.

Oil type depends on what plates you have. If it is CR80 plates then 10W40 motorcycle engine oil is your choice.
400 ml of oil is absolutely enough.

My opinion is that almost any oil will work, but if you've had that recommendation it's worth a try.

As Roland says 400ml is plenty, even then you will need to extend your breather to stop it pumping out all over the place. Or use a VMC breather.

I've pulled a few SEA scoots apart, and it could have only been used deep fryer oil in the box.
Part of a coconut water can was used as a bearings case shim,
