Hello guys,
I have 2012 LX 125 ie3V Vespa with M68 engine. I have upgraded it with a 183cc Malossi kit and Multivar variator. It is a beast now!
With these upgrades, the stock gearing needs to be changed.
The wheelie on every traffic lights is fun, but I am looking to balance the gears with the gained power. The motivation is not to reach top speeds, the stability on 10 inch wheels, and rear on the rubber bushings, is crazy. What I am looking for is balance. What I found so far is that the 16/42 secondary gear mallossi kit put the ratio somewhere between stock and 150 engine. But I haven't found what is the right ration to go for the upgraded engine with a large cylinder. Thanks for sharing you experience

As much as it pains me to use the P word, the best upgear for the Leader engine is probably the Polini primary set.
Malossi had a straight cut primary set for the Leader, but it's been discontinued for a while.

yours is on 110/70 x 11 and 120/70 x 10 no?!

You can very effectively fit a higher rear like 80 or even 90 section:

https://shop.heidenau.com/de/zweiradreifen/roller/k59.html

and this calculator tells you all:

https://www.willtheyfit.com/index.php?width=120&aspect=70&diameter=10&wheelwidth=6&offset=50&width2=120&aspect2=90&wheel_size=10&wheel_width=8.5&offset2=30

Honestly I didn't think about the wheels, but it is a no go. Check if the wheels size is according to the manufacturer datasheet is the first thing that is checked on the technical inspection that I need to pass regularly.
Which means, it is either primary gears change, secondary gears change or their combination.
Anyone can recommend what gearing would best correspond to my 183cc kitted engine?

Thanks, jakub

Same thing over here of course.

Check if the ´M+S´ marked tyres are exempt.

If not then check for a spare rear wheel at the breakers. It may be easier/cheaper to swap the wheel/tyre for inspection.

have you checked either on M+S or breakers yards?

I have asked around and over here it is not challenging to find a spare set of wheels.
I may yet pounce on a set myself.
