Hello all - this is the rear tire on my 2014 gts. I can still see the two center lines. So with your collective experience, should this be replaced ASAP or do I still have a few hundred miles on it?

This is one of SIPs branded tires. The replacement I have is City Grips II. TIA!

Tire grooves channel water away from the tread to improve wet traction and prevent hydroplaning. In my opinion, time to put the new ones on, unless it never rains where you live.

Absolutely change that! You don't show a picture of the TWIs (Tire Wear Indicators) - but I bet they're screaming at you!

Yeah, time for a change. Can you go further? Sure. Is it a good idea? No. I was running one beyond that this summer, but I spent the whole time wondering if I'd make it home from the trip...and worse, with unavoidable twisties, if I'd meet a guard rail unexpectedly.

Check out the /r/motorcycles subreddit. People regularly post photos of their tires with the belts showing, asking "How many more miles can I get out of this?"

I've seen it in person Wha? emoticon ...fortunately on an MP3 front tire. At least they had a spare. Good also that it was on it's way home on a trailer for an unrelated problem.

I had a chap show up under the banyan tree in L town, one of those Grom bikes.
Got off his bike and slowly made it my direction, after words he eventually told me I was very intimidating. An old guy sitting with a chess set is all I felt like. Hmm. Anyway his bikes front tire was bald and cupped beyond belief, I wanted bring out that guy he feared to wake him up about that tire, on the pali hi way. I hope I did, for him and his families sake.
