Some of us ride every day.

Jacksonville, Florida may have the most active scooter club in the world, the 7 Bridges Scooter Club.

Our leader, Russ Dixon, plans and leads three rides every week.

He keeps track of every rider on every ride, and gives out a patch when riders cross big thresholds.

Last week he gave me one commemorating 800 rides.

I am the third to reach this height.

Russ has twice as many rides.

800 rides? I thought you worked for a living Bill!!!

Seriously though, congratulations on the perseverance that it requires to find yourself in such a position. A reflection of your love of scooter riding.

Bill,

I remember my first group ride. I was hooked. Good friends and new trails I would never have adventured down. These leaders are a real gift to fellow riders.

Congratulations on your 800 ride level accomplishment. I get a bigger kick out of you guys having a patch for this. You are a real in the saddle guy.

I look forward to all your posts.

From 2010 until around 2018, I led almost every ride, including a 2000 mile Natchez Trace ride that took the place of the 2012 Scooter Cannonball Run for seven club members (we were kicked out of the Cannonball by an overly ambitious organizer that year).

It is interesting to see other scooter clubs plan maybe five rides per year, while we ride constantly.

The regularly scheduled rides include a dinner ride on Tuesdays, a morning, breakfast/lunch ride on Thursdays and a longer lunch ride on Sundays.

Sunday rides are for breakfast during the hot summer months, but longer when it cools down.

Every ride has between 4 and 20 riders.

I led the ride this past Sunday to the Florida Cafe in Micanopy, around 80 miles from Jacksonville along one of the better routes available in the area.

The club members come and go, but several have been riding for many years.

The new members have added significantly to my enjoyment in the rides, as we get together for the restaurant dining, always with something to discuss.

I miss many too rides traveling or with work, but join in whenever I can.

Russ said I have ridden in 80 rides so far this year.

We stopped at a gas station for a butt break. Not very scenic with two dumpsters.

Congratulations from the Black Hills Vespa Owner Consortium (BHVOC) on the participation award for your 800th club ride.

Being the only member, officer, and founder of the BHVOC, it's admittedly not a difficult task to organize and keep track of the participants in the official club rides, which are very casual activities held three or four times per week during the riding season.

Again, on behalf of everyone ('one' being the operative word here) in the BHVOC, congratulations on the well-deserved acknowledgement of your participation in your club's riding events.

I think you lucky folks in the all year riding climates spend more time on your scooters. You commute more on two wheels and seem to be available to group ride more.

I thought my riding group, "Minn-Max Scooters of Minnesota", rode allot with seven monthly day rides and one four day extended ride. This does not even compare to Bill's Florida team.
