It's not Piaggio's fault on this. It's the "extreme" Euro 5+ emissions requirements that killed the Ape,
Well, yes and no. They could very easily have put a 50 / 125 / 150 Euro 5 4 stroke in. They had a petrol and diesel in!!! The TM model.
It is simply a handy reason to stop a production that in Italy was past the sell by date anyway as sales of the Ape in Europe are all but extinct.

I haven't looked at the prices on Dodge trucks for a while as most trucks are priced way the heck too high.
Stellantis has unsold 2023 and 2024 Rams, and a 1.5 year supply of Dodge Hornets, which is a rebadged Alfa Romeo, sitting on their lots. They dropped prices about 15% are are allegedly going to reduce prices down to about 30% off MSRP, and require their dealers to sell it at one price, without dealer markups, like Saturn tried.
The three year, 36K mile factory warranty tells you a lot about how well Stellantis thinks they build Dodge vehicles. To put this in perspective, the Yugo factory warranty offered a 10-year/100,000-mile guarantee.
Depending on how much it costs for a Chrysler extended warranty, and not one of those mickey mouse third party warranties, I may seriously consider buying one. Unless Ford or Chevy or Toyota or Nissan does the same thing.

A 3 year/36,000 mile warranty on a new car? That's as funny as a friend buying a new IceBear scooter with a 30 day warranty! That shows some confidence in your products.

Not sure that meant all that much, in hindsight.

I am philosophically opposed to attempting to install or overlay a veneer of quality on something that wasn't designed with it in the first place. A vehicle cannot earn its way via extended warranty into a satisfactory experience if it is often broken down and unavailable for use. And the things that actually break are part of systems of other things that aren't officially broken but that are functioning below expectation.

Put another way: there is no price at which a theoretical Chinese scooter with an extended warranty can be equivalent to a higher quality Japanese or Italian product.

Familiarity breeds contempt.
Familiarity with Vespa "quality" has led to clarity. I'd still buy but am very clear about what I'm getting for my money. It's the styling and badge I'd be paying a premium price for.
