Sprint frame vs Rally frame

Plan for now is to pull the rally 200 engine and see the condition. If the rotary pad is good I'll proceed with the engine rebuild.

Then… media blast the rally frame and see if it can be saved. Ultimately, saving a rally from the scrap heap will be the plan. If there is monkey business (aside from the floor board) I'll probably just do the sprint with a 200 lump from the rally fitted.

Don't be afraid of a floorboard replacement. Find the right welder, pay them whatever the price is, and get it done so you can move ahead with a proper restoration. When I tell people I had the floorboard replaced on my 67 GT, they can't believe it. Glad I didn't scrap it after the sandblasted horror show I saw.

Bird, I have restored a couple of Vespas where the floorboards were in the same condition as the one on your Rally. I imported new ones from SIP in Germany, and today those Vespas are back on the road.
