Golly I don't think any responsible MV member would ever intentionally ride at greater than 100 anyway. That would be just plain wrong. We're a law abiding forum aren't we?

So we are criminals? It must be because of my poor English, but I had understood that 100km/h was the minimum speed allowed

Where I live, speed limits are regarded as a vague hint of what velocity you might safely do on that stretch of road.

The bad thing is that something very similar happens with traffic lights (especially at night) where people begin to suffer from color blindness, confusing red with green, and even spatial dyslexia syndrome, where they don't know if what is lit is up or down. |

My BV has the standard windscreen and the standard topbox and I drive the BV regularly above 100km/h. I do not notice anything wrong in the scooter's behavior. Perfectly stable. |

I was stopped by a cop for speeding through a red light and he asked if I knew what the speed limit was I said yes he then asked me what the color green meant in the sequence of the traffic lights I told him I didn't know because I've usually gone by then, he shook his head gave me a warning and let me go
Not sure if he understood me. |

If I was to ride at an indicated 100 Km/hr on the local freeways around San Francisco Bay I would either be rear-ended or simply shot by an irate driver.

I imagine that printed caution comes from their legal department - after consulting with their engineers.

Considering I took it daily, and for about 18 months I cruised down to Union City on my 250. There were some days where I was grateful for the Prius doing below the speed limit. Just for a break in the big-rig mayhem.

Last summer I got my BV400 up to around 92mph ( via a GPS reading ) on the NYS Thruway while rocking my 45l Givi top box and an aftermarket windshield.
I'm sorry to report that I'm dead now, I guess. |

Years ago a kid in my school bought a Chevy II [nova] with a 6 cylinder. He installed a big block, heavier springs in the front. there was a sticker on the dash: "Do not exceed 85mph with the windows open"
One day while doing a speed run with the windows open, the back window blew out :O The Nova with a big block from the factory was the more delux version, with chrome trim rings around the front & rear windshields, which apparently made higher speeds possible I like the way on scooters, when riding solo, you have a topbox & a windshield, the wind hits me in the back... |
