Hi, I'm new to the site, but I've had and rode scooter's since 1979! I've never done much on the spanner side other than basic maintenance! However I have just purchased a vbb in bits and don't know where to start putting it back together! The cables are in the frame as too is the wiring loom! The front hub is complete and the forks are in, loosely!! Any help in pointing out where to make a start would be greatly appreciated!

Post some pics!
I'd start with an engine rebuild ...if the front end is sorted, I'd put that in and work on cabling and wiring the headset while I waited for parts for the engine. Welcome and don't hesitate to ask if you get stuck somewhere. Lot's of great info here: https://www.scooterhelp.com/tips/engine/engine.old.vespa.html |

Could have been assembled abroad, far abroad! The fact that it is on 10 inches, have grey boots, a shiny new speedo and a fresh speedy not og color paint could be signs from an exotic sometimes not safe re-re-rebuilt. Do the serial number and the prefix look original ? You can post a picture of the serial number if you want more infos, by looking at it it is easy to spot something weird.
The aim is to make sure it is ok, otherwise it could be dangerous to drive safe if we spot that it is a "bodge"… |
