(If you're unfamiliar, and interested in the history of this bike from the beginning of my ownership, please see HERE)

TL;DR

-All the hard work by Joe at Second Chance Scooters in SF. Can not thank him enough!
-60mm Mazzuchelli crank
-Malossi 177 kit, port matched
-Re-gear kit
-Dell'orto 20/20
-Fast flow tap
-Vape Sport
-Sip Road 2
-Sip Performance Suspension 2.0
-LML front fork

----------

For those of you still reading, you may remember where we left off almost a year ago (sorry I've just been lurking for a while...life, kids, scooterless, ya know...). I got the bottom end, clutch and carb rebuilt, but got stuck figuring out what to do for the top end. I was in the cycle of ruining perfectly good parts (cables, wiring harness, piston rings...) simply because I didn't have the experience to do it right the first time, which got old quick. My favorite scooter passenger is getting older by the day so I decided to punt and found Joe at Second Chance Scooters to help bail me out. I decided to go the whole nine and do the body and paint work as well, especially once the consensus by a few different knowledgeable folks was that a good portion of the current paint job was a re-spray.

Here's a quick recap of everything (with pics of course) for those that are interested. I know this is just the beginning, and I know it's just a Sprint, but I'm beyond stoked to have a running scooter. Let's hope I can keep it that way for an extended period of time Laughing emoticon Thought you guys might like to see its journey.

(Some pics are mine and some are from Joe that he sent as he made progress)

Joe was quick to get the engine back together after we decided which way we were going. He even tracked down Sprint cases numbered close to the chassis VIN.

Spoiler alert. Color inspiration. Very close to the Rally 200 yellow so we went with that. Very glad I stayed with a OG Vespa color. Turned out awesome.

Down to the metal. I decided on repop cowls and front fender instead of trying to straighten the old ones.

More was accomplished in this box van than in my garage! It took time to get into the queue with the painter, but it was worth the wait.

If it rides as good as it looks, you are golden. Kudos to Joe and you.

Thanks, everyone! Like I said, I'm super happy with how it's turned out and that I can ride it for a while and get better at the simple stuff before I go cracking cases open again.

Thanks, Terry! It rides great! It really gets going in 3rd and 4th when it can run out long enough to really hit the power band. Jetting feels pretty good as is (I think?) but I'm going to go through a tank of gas and pull the plug and see how it looks. Top speed seems to be hovering around the max speed rating for the tires (62 mph). I'm a little worried that since we didn't do anything to upgrade the clutch that it'll burn out early but...we'll cross that bridge when we have to.

I'm actually down in the LA suburbs. I found Joe on Instagram and started chatting with him there. You can make it up and back in a day! (Probably not on a scooter though Laughing emoticon )
