On a PX200E with a faulty fuel gauge: how do you determine whether the problem is the fuel gauge (in the tank), or in the speedometer?

If you have a friend with a P, you could try running extended wires to his sender and see if your gauge responds. That would be an easy starting point.

Since it's an AC system, while the engine is running, undo the plug from the tank sensor and bridge consecutively black to white/black and black to white/green. If the wiring and speedo is OK, one combo will max the fuel level and the other will light up the reserve...
