Hello, folks.

I have a disc brake kit on my 150 Super (with PX fork). The rotor is now becoming worn. It is the kit from a vietnamese company that no longer exists, that sounds a lot like scooters (without the e).

Does anyone know if it is a custom made rotor? Or can I use the one from another bike/model?

Thanks

Unless it was a custom made disc, they probably used something from a Japanese scooter. Your best bet is to check if your disc's dimensions match any of the discs in Newfren's catalogue...

Yes it's a
S c o o t R S
disc. The nice thing about them was that the hub looked exactly like the drum from the other side. Worked well too.

I hang on to a lot of stuff and sometimes get to use it. I have one that is also worn, but probably could be cleaned up ok. How bad is yours?
Might also be worth getting a price on having one made, it's a simple shape unlike the Piaggio ones.

I've ridden about 30000 km on it since 2010. I bought it for the looks, like the performance and haven't got any problem.

Maybe it is worn for about 1-2mm I suppose. It's worse than yours. It's still usable, but for safety may be better to change it because I haven't got a clue of how long should it last.

How about finding a machine shop to have it resurfaced?

I think you could try your luck by contacting Scootopia and Saigon Scooter Center. Asking for a disc with images of your current setup does not cost anything and there is a chance you will get lucky.

Already done that. My concern is that the disc has become too thin.

Piaggio says if thickness is below 3.5mm, replace it (for their own). Found some pics on the R S old FB page, unfortunately seems that the rotors were made in house...

Nice find Safis! It's a pity they went under as they actually did a few interesting things. I know he certainly had a bad reputation personally on here and the old BBS, hence the redacted thing.

This disc of mine is 180mm diameter and (originally) 4mm thick. It measures around 3.7 - 8 ish now so with a cleanup you probably could count on 3.5.
