I have a 2007 Vespa LX50 that has a unique issue. It runs and drives great, the issue is getting it started. Whether it is a cold start, or if it's even been running for a while and fully warmed up, when I try to start it it takes about 30 seconds of turning over before it starts. I have tried several different new batteries, lead acid, AGM, etc. Even a lithium battery that measures 13.4V. It will kick over with no issues for about 30 seconds, and finally starts.
However, if I connect a NOCO jump pack to the battery that has a little more oompth (it is a 4S pack so it measures 14.5V) The bike will start every time in about 1 second.
Could it be starter related, that the starter is old and I need a new one, or can it be choke related, that the choke isn't engaging without the extra voltage.
It's just an extra volt from the NOCO boost pack, but it starts every time like a charm, and it won't do that with the standard batteries. Any thoughts?
