Was reading this blog about a couple who bonded over their scooters and now have a big combined collection (about 31, and I am jealous). What caught my eye is their orange rally is going to be featured in a new film about Margate scooter culture, and I'm intrigued. The plot is different, but it seems to be inspired by Quadrophenia.

The Bikesure blog if anyone's interested - https://www.bikesure.co.uk/bikesureblog/2025/01/chris-and-bexs-scootering-love-match/

Thats a great story of two scooter nutters . The way of life film ( according to google) was originally filmed in 2006. This must be a remake or a refresh.

I like their idea of a museum, but if you visit any of the bike museums apart from Sammy Millars they are struggling a bit to stay open.

The Sammy Miller museum is brilliant. I watched him for an hour or more while working on one of his rebuilds. Well worth a visit for any PTW enthusiast while in the UK.

100% agree , I was talking to two of the curators whilst we were there and commented how immaculate the bikes were. This , set against a backdrop of them building a new wing so part of one of the walls was a temporary plastic sheeting with the inevitable dust motes coming through.

They explained every bike has a cleaning rota. Every X weeks it gets a damp dust and check over eg fingermarks etc , ever X months it gets a " deep clean" to remove dirt and dust from everywhere.

It was the discipline and regime I liked. Also the wall and cabinet full of Sammy's exploits on GOV 132 his trusty Ariel which he dominated the Uk and international trials scene.
