Hi!

I just got my 2023 MP3 530 back after some work was done and the LCDAS system had an error, but the shop was already closed for the night so I continued on home. I've seen that error before when there was fog/precipitation while riding, but on this occasion, it was extremely cold sub-freezing temperatures and very dry air. Does anyone have any experience with trouble-shooting this rear radar system? I've attached a screenshot of the error message still present when I parked.

I won't ride again until the weather improves, but I thought I would try to understand the system in advance of that next ride.

Thanks!

Have you tried restarting and riding since the event? my 530 occasionally comes up with spurious error messages like this. The next time I start up it has gone.

Electronic errors can also be caused by a tired battery. Have it load tested to confirm

Both of these options make sense. I will post an update once I've ridden again. I know the system is prone to random bugs/errors but this one was not obviously random given time in the shop, although I trust this mechanic. My battery at home is on a battery minder, but I barely got it started for that ride home because it was at the shop for a few weeks without a trickle charge. Usually I get about four to five good years out of a battery but maybe this one is sub-par.

I replaced a tired battery with a lithium for less money than a yuasa, has all the BMS stuff. Turns the starter faster, starts quicker

Got the warning myself a few days ago. The next day it reset it self and works like normal. It's a nice to have system, but if it goes out I'd just wait till my next dealer visit.

Cheers,
Tross

I had the same thing happen to me when I was riding the other day. I turned the bike off and on again, at a red light, and the error went away.
Be interesting to see if it happens again. And, if I can see what triggers it. The battery is fresh and was fully charged.

Weather finally cooperated today. Long ride of about an hour, problem recurred after about forty minutes. Two short rides of about 10 minutes - no problems. Riding home for an hour, it did not recur. I do not think this is a battery problem at this point given my consistent Battery Tender usage. It is most likely a glitch, but could be a loose connection. I'm sure if I had restarted it on the drive to work it would have gone away, but I would prefer not to restart my bike in commute traffic... I will try to be more observant as to exactly when the error occurs from this point forward.
