Welcome to MV.

Are you an experienced rider at 70mph with a passenger on a scooter?

Is your passenger used to being a passenger and OK with riding on the back of a small motorbike at its top speed?

Are you both cool with the 99 mile journey? That's a big stretch of road, even at 50mph.

I would suggest many stops along the way to break up the ride and rest.

How big are you guys? How hilly is the ride? GTS 300 is a fantastic scooter, has it's limitations though. After 35 miles on the back of my GT200 with a raw spot on her backbone from the Givi topcase, my wife said "i'm never getting on that thing again".

The GTS will be fine with it as long as you've adjusted the tyre pressures to suit. Your passenger's arse might need a break half-way though. Just remind them to behave like a sack of potatoes, no squirming about or shifting bodyweight. Body to stay in line with the scoot.

Have fun shepherding them back!

Key thing set off early , allow time for breaks, so your mate doesnt have his first new to him bike ride in the dark.

I and many hundreds of other Scooter riders have been travelling up and down British motorways carrying pillions for decades going to and from Scooter Rallies, and for the most part on slower and significantly less powerful machines than the GTS.

You'll be fine, inflate your rear tyre to 32 psi and go for it.

Be more specific, russet or red potatoes?

In a pinch, I don't see why an equal weight of oranges or apples wouldn't work every bit as well.

Yup - "Act like a sack of curry" doesn't quite hold up...
