Hey all you 8 inch lovers ahahaha, i know you all hate this topic of 10 inch conversions. It's too late guys it's been a 10inch for a couple years already and no going back, I don't feel like doing 130 on an 8 inch. Anyways my question is will a sprint fork fit straight onto a VBB frame without modifications or what modifications would I need to do. The main issue i have is that the wheel sits too far back and every time I go near the front brakes my tyre hits the top of the mud guard eventually causing deep gouges in the tyre. Maybe you also have some other solutions? 🤷🏻‍♂️

loosen up all the screws that attach the fender to the fork, remove the furthest rear screw completely, install some shims between the fork and the fender, reinstall that rear screw, then tighten up all of the rest of the screws. If the rear portion of the fender is now making contact with the legshield, then it's time to jump into the next rabbit hole to fix the slippery slope of cause and effect.

If the the fender is the only issue and the fork functions well otherwise, I would try to modify the fender until it worked. I would start with the easiest possible solution and cut and weld the fender if I had to.

Ideally you'll still want to still have about a finger's width of gap between the rear portion of the fender and the legshield.
