The set up:
Bfa 306 motor
BFA 306 engine
Smart carb 30
Sip fast flow2
Dellorto vacuum fuel pump

The symptoms:
1st gear- everything is great. Roll the throttle on too fast and the front end is shooting for the stars, then it comes onto the pipe and it's time to shift before you're ready.
2nd gear- just like 1st but now doing 50 mph.
3rd gear- roll on throttle, front wheel lifts, pipe comes on it lifts more, 65 mph, gets to 70 and it bogs like it's fuel starved.
4th gear- didn't even try.
This thing is a monster! Never went above half throttle, and could pull away from a built 210 malossi P200.

Anybody have any experience with dellorto fuel pumps? Any ideas? I would really like to be able to find the limits of this engine speed wise as I plan to ride it to Washington state from Colorado.
Thanks in advance for any input!
GL has the engine in question and the P is the one blushing in embarrassment 😳

I always fit dellorto pumps. Post some pictures of your pump and plumbing. Might be something easy.

Here are some pics of the setup.
Black line from engine to pump
One green line from tank to pump
One green line from pump to carb
Thanks

That helps explain it. It should work. A few changes will certainly help it work better.
Turn the pump 90 degrees, so the vac line is at the top. Shorten the line from the tank to the pump, so its straight down. When the tank goes in, things might change.

Also, is the vacuum line above or below the reed?

Looks like below, but want to make sure.

Is your pump the self-regulating one?

Vacuum line is below the reeds, and so is the pump. And the pump is self regulating.
Thanks for the help. It's a little frustrating to just start to get on the pipe only to fuel starve. I've only seen 1/2 throttle and it will leave my 210 p behind like it's a v50.

I had similar issues with my pump that I think I eventually isolated to vapor lock/air bubbles in the fuel line.

Make sure you don't have any overhead bends in the fuel line?

That pump should be pushing more than enough fuel for a 30mm carb.

That makes sense. I may have gotten too cute routing the fuel line from the pump to the carb and inadvertently created an air pocket just before the carb. Thanks again!

I would by-pass the pump and test again, just to be sure it's the pump causing the problem.

I had the fuel tank out one time and inadvertently turned it right around. That kinked the line and caused a running out of fuel issue. I'm embarrassed to say it took months and months before I accidentally found the answer.

To fix this issue, you have to provide some video material about this scoot

I think I found the problem. Reroute of fuel line and followed jack221 suggestions on the pump placement. Will test ride once it warms up a bit.

This is how I have mine with a return line running back into the line from the fuel tap. I also have the screw off top of a spark plug in the return line as a restrictor.

As soon as I get more fuel line I'll plumb mi e like yours.
How do you like that engine? Must scream at sea level! I'm a mile above that and it's a little bit frightening.

I'm at about 2000 feet. I've been too lazy to get the minor things done to get it running properly. I still need to take out the jet and put in the new one that the SmartCarb people sent me. I think I'm on my fourth kickstart lever. High compression and an aluminum lever with the tiniest splines just doesn't hold up. I was able to drill through the lever and kickstart quadrant to put a pin in it.
