Well that was fun. Mclaren's finally bumped and dumped. I guess Oscar is now the official papaya #1. Happy for Kimi and George.
Boooo for Max. (Just because he's Max.)

So, what kind of bias is it if an American is happy to see an Italian win his first podium? I don't really consider myself Anglo-Saxon (at all) and surely Kimi isn't considered Anglo-Saxon either.
But surely I must be biased, if I'm to believe the advice on this thread. I'm so confused. ⚠️ Last edited by jess on UTC; edited 2 times

Now there's this:
https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6427913/2025/06/15/red-bull-protests-george-russell-canadian-gp-f1/ If I was Russell, I'd claim that he was aspiring to be like Max and was merely emulating his charm. |

Great showings from Ocon, Hulkenberg and Alonso.
Red Bull just look like a bunch of hypocrites right now. I think that Norris should just settle down and realise his position in the team. Happy for George and Kimi. |

He sure would have gotten two or three if hé had done the chanceless collision causing Norris move instead of those senseless 5 secs. * The RB protest was a pre-emptive strike defense (popular US military tactic) against Max potentially receiving a penalty for overtaking under safety car. Great job by Russell. For the rest lost interest after 40 laps or so. Saw the rest in highlights later. I do wonder about the turn of speeds: Mercedes looked like the McLarens, the McLarens not. Could make the rest of the championship less predictable. |

My respect goes out to Lando for putting his hands up and admitting that it was his fault.
That can't be an easy thing to do. |

The stewards typically weigh the result of an action more than the action itself. We can debate which matters more -- the action or the result -- and that is a totally reasonable debate to have. Attempting to turn yet another incident into evidence of bias is tedious and tiresome. We're all quite tired of it. It's stupid and insulting. Please stop. |

Going forward I would like to start a petition that this years iteration of Scuderia Ferrari be referred to as the "Marmots".
https://www.the-race.com/formula-1/where-ferrari-is-failing-massively-in-its-rough-2025/ As Vasseur reflected, throwing away performance through bad execution is worth far more than any benefit car improvements can bring. "I think we made too many mistakes collectively from the beginning with the crash in FP1, with the mistake in qualifying, with the marmot in the race," he said. ⚠️ Last edited by Birdsnest on UTC; edited 2 times

At teast the weather is looking ´promising´ for Austria. The track itself is a far, fár cry; shorter and much needed safer lower speed unfortunately eliminating two exhilerating corners, from when I raced there but it still lies in the mountains.

Some interesting details about the new steward guidelines the FIA just released. Under these guidelines, deliberately causing a collision (as Max clearly did in Spain) should have resulted in a FOUR point superlicense penalty, regardless of whether there was a consequence of the collision.
So the stewards actually chose not to punish Max as severely as they could have, and according to the official guidelines. |

F1 has become more of a legal battle than a sporting event.
More discussions about penalty points than the racing. I have closely followed the sport since 1969, watching every race since. The days of Senna vs Prost had me on the edge of my seat every race. Then Nigel came around and added to the excitement. I have been pulling for Ferrari since Michael Schumacher pulled them up (with help). But I was out of the country during the recent triple, actually in Bologna during the Imola race. I recorded all three but have only bothered to watch the Imola race since returning. Monaco is a joke and Jerez was only about Max and George's coming together. I will probably end up deleting them. Hoping Austria has some decent racing. Bill
