Hi all,

My Primavera 50 2T is doing something weird at low revs. She starts fine, but on idle the oil light comes on only when the indicator lamp is on.

New battery time? It's only 8 months old!

Indeed, all topped up. Full tank of fuel also so the fuel light is peculiar, as is the gauge!

As a addition to SteelBytes: The clock shows 12:00. A sign that the battery was disconnected or flat. Did you have problems with the battery? Did you charge the battery or jump started the vehicle? Are you sure that the battery is sufficiently charged?

First, it seems that there is a charging problem or a cable that does not make good contact because of how the dashboard fluctuates only with the flashing lights on. Maybe the fuel light (as you say tank is full) correct and is a dashboard error.
Second, the oil light does give the impression that it is detecting low pressure at idle, since when accelerating the motorcycle it goes off, but it takes a while to do so. I would check that urgently (hopefully it is just a bad valve).

Well, indeed despite starting fine the last two days and showing the above symptoms, today it wouldn't start at all.

She would start via. a kick start.

Took a multimeter down to the 12V and off it was at 10.1V off, and when on straight after starting 11.4V, and rising to 13V or so when she was being revved.

So indeed, it looks like another battery - only 8 months old!

After riding it today 20 miles, then starting it again the fuel light was off and the gauges all correct, so I think a low PD on the battery might cause these other issues!
