Through a fellow enthusiast I purchased this 1978 Rally 200 (Italian).
Quite unique since this Vespa was registered new in 1978 in the Netherlands, so it has its original 1978 Dutch license!
Of course this bruiser comes with a few mysteries, the scooter was set aside since the previous couldn't figure something out. It has a new crank, new sip ignition and two cdi swaps (original crank and ducati iginition are included), but still not running.
So first thing on the list is pulling the engine.
Previous owner had a new floorboard installed, so i want to inspect to make sure it was safely.
Obviously glovebox is missing (so its not a bodge, then it would have two of them )
And going to bring him back to his original colour: reddish orange (only male Vespa is the Rally all other are female I was once told).
Will be having a lot of questions for the forum in the near future!
