The handlebar throttle tube on my project Stella is loose in the linear axis. There is at least 1/4 inch of gap all the way around at the grip end. I can wobble the throttle tube around in the hole.
I believe some bushings/spacers are missing, so I purchased the nylon spacer sleeve/bushing kit Scooter Mercato sells.
1. I've looked at the parts diagrams for the throttle and shifter tubes but I could use a photo of the throttle tube assembly order if anybody has one.
2. Why are there keyholes in the throttle tube? Wire/cable clearance? I ask because the brake light switch wiring inside the headset was basically cut in two where the throttle tube was rotating against it, right at one of the keyhole cutouts.
3. The thin metal flange tack welded to the throttle tube where the grip butts up against it is no longer welded in place. Is this important to prevent the grip rubber from rubbing on the headset housing? Should I have it re-tacked?
Thanks in advance.
