Hi,

Has anyone fitted an external ignition pick up for back up? Scootronics do them for Lambretta and it got me home after my black box on stator failed. I have acquired a PX200EFL and wondered if anyone had adapted the Lambretta one.

LML used to have one version that had an external pickup.

Mostly however they are pretty reliable and I've found if having stator troubles they are generally the last things to be concerned about. That's with a stock PX type stator.

I guess you must be new to Vespas in that case? Your Lambretta mates might all desert you now!

Welcome to the forum.

If you don't trust your ignition, get one you can.

I'm running essentially the exact same ignition (SIP Vape) on both my Vespas and my Lammy and other than bad wire on a very early CDI, they've all been dead reliable .

Other than things that are within the realm of "my own damn fault," of course.

i run an original ignition on a 1951 Sears Allstate. that's what, 74 years old? works. i have yet to think about installing a second ignition.

extreme, but hope the OP gets my point.
