Yo, metadaddy! Dieing for some pics of Saturday over here! Don't leave me hanging. 😉

A lot more of us cavemen would see your pics if you posted this in NSM.

It's true. I don't know about anyone else, but I don't normally ever venture out of the NSM cave unless someone crossposts something into here, and maybe not even then.

Good to see you made it out and hope you had a great time!

Was anyone else (other than FNG) from MV representing?

So, my first ever scooter rally… I had a great time, saw some of the Vespa Club San Jose crew, and made a bunch of new friends, including FNG.

The ride was very well organized, the post-ride BBQ was excellent, and the musical entertainment rocked, or, more accurately, skanked!

I had a nice chat with metadaddy. We randomly parked next to each other on Saturday morning. I kept looking at his Vespa thinking I know this scooter. His ET3 looks sweet.

I've got a few more photos from Saturday. I'll post them when I have more time. Now it's back to work for me.

Blue smoke inhaled from a distance.

I figure ea rally is about 3 -5 months lower life expectancy- and I ask myself: self, is there any better way to spend your final 3 months?

Consistently the answer is no!

Thanks for posting.

It's just the crappy 3 months at the end of life anyway. Ha.

charlieman22 you were missed. Without the Unicorn present everyone had to stand around and stare at a Lambretta and pretend to be impressed. Ha ha.

My little Primmy did just great. Several people asked if it was modified; "No, it's stock, but lighter than your bike!"

It was so much fun to ride in the twisties - shorter wheelbase, and I could carry more speed through the corners than the bigger bikes

Thank you guys so much for all the pics! Now I'm feeling a little homesick. I'd have loved to have been there to collect on my Greek gyro bet w/ SDJohn if he won't come here, but all those bikes put my scruffy stuff to shame unless I was on my sweet minty PK125XL and we can't be two places at once Crying or Very sad emoticon .

You got it! I love a 125 smallie in the twisties & hairpins on our island where we are heading for Easter again. A rally there I would definitely find my way to!

This Lambretta was seriously fast. We were going almost 60mph on Hwy 1 going into Morro Bay and it passed us like we were standing still. It looked super stable too.

If you're willing to throw the cash at it, for both motor and suspension, Lammies are absolute speed demons. Longer wheelbase, better balance, and lower center of gravity all contribute. I have a buddy who has an SSR 265cc motor in a Series 1 Lammy that puts out about 50 HP and will easily do over 100 MPH.

And there is a motor called the Sledgehammer 333 now, and I don't even want to contemplate what it'd be capable of with the right gearing.

This article at SLUK on the Sledgehammer 333 is quite interesting - it looks like they went a very different direction from the SSR265 - the 333 "only" makes about 32 hp.
