And you know I'm here for it.

Honestly, painting a Lammy is the worst part of working on them.

Remind me of the mechanical plan. Are y'all going to try to save the points, or move to something electronic/reliable? Same thing with the top end.

My Series 3, bone stock, was pretty underwhelming. Top speed was 52 MPH on a slight downslope, so pretty similar to a stock-ish VBB performance-wise, just on 10" wheels.

I'd suggest a minimal cylinder upgrade since I'm guessing you need a new top end in any case. I'll talk to my hardcore Lammy people and get their opinion on your options if you want me to.

Since the cables and wiring harness are run along the frame rather than through a tunnel, they're a dream to work with compared to any Vespa, albeit with a couple caveats. The number of fasteners involved with attaching the bodywork is not the most fun, but I got through it in under a day.

Dont forget the bag of rubber anti rattle pieces under the floor and everywhere else ....

If not available where you are, tap washers and or sections of an old inner tube make a good stand in

Or a sheet of suitably thick neoprene works well

Yeah, my Serveta 150 was really gutless with the stock top end. It was so slow in fact, that my all stock (including the muffler) PX150 would blow the doors off of the lammy.

Just seeing your post. I enjoyed looking through it. Lambrettas are a different breed for sure.

I was lucky enough to stumble across a Series 2 TV175 that had been stored in a garage for many years. It just needed to be washed. The gas tank was even pristine inside. I usually do all my own engine work. But for this one I sent the engine to a shop who knew what they were doing for a "rebuild" as I figured the seals were bad at a minimum. Money well spent in my opinion. I later converted to electronic ignition (all 12v AC) because the battery wouldn't stay charged. It's a total cruiser.
