Hi all,
I just bought a 2005 ET4 w 7000km. First Vespa in 10 years since selling px150 serie Canada edition, so this is a whole new game for me.
Bike has new battery which I've tested. It was starting ok, but I could hear a lot of noise from starter or bendix. Last week she stopped starting. Crank but no start.
Pulled starter and cleaned up commutator with sand paper. Reinstalled and it was just whirring, no start.
Ordered new starter and starter fuse. Installed and now just the click from the starter fuse.
Kill is off, battery tested and good, brake lights work. No blinks at all from immobilizer (not sure if it has one even). All 4 fuses intact.
I just ran hot wire to new starter and it cranks…so I'm thinking it's some wiring issue. Exhaust is off bc is was changing shoes (not sure if that is somehow related).
Ground by CVT was just cleaned and reinstalled as well.
Any tips on where to check next are much appreciated!!!
Mike
