Starting to document the journey of this cream colored scoot over here. Bought along two other scoots just yesterday.

The story of the scoot was that it had broken down with horrible noise while the previous owner was commuting. Indeed cranking the kickstarter sounds like the flywheel is touching the fan shroud. And indeed it was Laughing emoticon

Don't ask me what happened here but I found this kinda funny

Took out the engine since it will require some major bench work before being operational again

The engine turned out to be not as innocent as the body. It has been kitted with SIP Road (?) exhaust, Pinasco top end and Si 24.24 carb.

I hope I'm not making too big of a sacrilege here by dropping in a left over 200 engine to get the scoot rideable again.

Seat is a tad dirty but overall in good condition. Just one small pinhole on the side. Could this also be OG? If I recall correctly, that seat latch mechanism is correct for GL.

Rivets on the badge look beautifully done and round

Under the tank is rustless and I think the red color is just primer paint

Same red paint on the underside of the fuel tank

Fuel tank even has it's sticker

Seat latch post was one thing that I thought was a tell-tale sign about re-spray.

Got the engine swap forward a good deal today. Cables ran, new fuel hose and electrics modified for Vape regulated. Still missing the brake switch though.

Repurposed one of the two blue wires from junction box and ground for brake light switch for hooking up regulator hidden under the fuel tank.

Positive: Got to a short ride on a working engine.

Negative: Regulator did not appreciate this since I did not remember to replace my 6V bulbs. They blew out immediately and the regulator was unable to dissipate 110W on it's own trying to keep the voltage in check Laughing emoticon

Note to self: Do not ride without any lights or bad things might happen to your regulator.

Ditched the Bajaj regulator, drilled another hole and fitted a Vape AC regulator along 12V bulbs.

Next thing is to wash her thoroughly.
