Modern Vespa

Right now I'm in Albania. This was supposed to be a fact finding trip but what we found was we love this place! So we bought a condo (apartment, they don't differentiate). I thought I would sell my bikes and buy something here but unless I have residency I can't do that. Strangely, I can bring in a vehicle and use my US driver's license for a year. By then I will have residency. I thought about bringing the BMW RT since it will easily cross continents but it's as big as a Smart car. I'm afraid I won't be able to park on the sidewalk like a scooter can.

So I've decided to sell the bikes and buy a new GTS310 and ship it here. One of my other concerns was service. There is a Piaggio/Vespa dealer and a Yamaha dealer. Other than that they are all Chinese scoots that I can't buy in the US.

Tonight we fly to Rome. Tomorrow it's back to the US to sell everything and buy that Vespa! It will be fun riding around with a North Carolina plate😆.

Alabania is probably the most backhander country close to the EU, nothing a few LEKS here and there cannot fix quickly once you are settled in, my bet is if you go to a dealer he will be able to settle your scoot purchase and residency at the same time, it is such a small place they are all cousins.
