Morning all,

My battered GS150 kickstart works but only just. It either turns over, or the pedal drops, the engine doesn't turn over. Probably high mileage and with significant wear and tear. Is this a worn kickstart mechanism? The clutch is fine and has been off the bike, re-fitted and adjusted.

Is this what needs replacing:

Assume this requires the engine splitting?

Thanks,

Charlie

no.

There is the main spring, 2 small springs, and a bushing. Those are items you would want to update. While inside, update the large O-ring.

yes, the engine will need to be split. The procedure is not as easy or simple as a Vespa LF engine.

I still have nightmare about reassembling my wide frame engine.

Somehow you need to partly assemble the kick set up, keep under tension, and slide inside the shaft while bringing the two halves together, took us a minimum of ten tries.

there are some youtube videos on the topic.

Thanks for this. Will plan to do the job soon.
