While removing the back panel of the legshields of my GTS 300, I found this Bowden cable, just to the left of the fork tube, attached to nothing!
Can anyone tell me what it's supposed to be connected to?
TIA!

That's the manual seat-release cable. It hooks on to a lever inside the glovebox, to be used when you need to open the seat but (for whatever reason) have no power.

And it's a total PITA to reconnect, that's why it's just hanging there.

Good to know! I will leave it as-is, then.

If it were me, I would reconnect it. I've disconnected and reconnected that cable many dozens of times (over many bikes) and yes, it is a PITA, but it's also occasionally very useful.

Just put it through the hole and use a needle nose pliers to get it in the latch, when the legshield is back in place. It's not hard to do, as long as you have a pair of needle nose pliers.

I'd definitely reconnect it, because otherwise it's a REAL pita to open the seat when you the power fails. Like I recently had when my fuse kept blowing...
